After sitting looking at THE chair for weeks now wondering how the hell I made a new cover for it, I finally laid out the fabric and plonked the current cover on it and just drew round it!

My kids were back to school today.

It was D's 5th birthday last friday, and remembering that I had made a cushion for her brother with an F on for his birthday, she had announced a little while ago that wanted one too for her bed. I of course left making this until the night before! But I did get it made and she was very pleased with it (check out the bedhair too, my children suffer from crazy hair in the morning!).

I finally got round to making D a little skirt out of the leaf fabric I brought at IKEA the other week. I made it whilst she was at school and as the only other skirts like this I'd made her were a couple of years old, I had to wing the sizing a bit. A few months ago, my mother-in-law discovered a little Windmill in a place called Sarre (near Canterbury), totally by accident, when she was on her way somewhere else. We have been meaning to visit ever since and finally made a little trip there a couple of weeks ago. It was cheap too, £2 for adults and £1 for kids.

I don't know if it is just being by the sea and having a horizon, but I have never seen more beautiful sunsets anywhere else that I have lived!

Excuse the picture it doesn't go with the post (it was taken at the Whitstable Craft Fair back in May), but I needed a nice smiley picture today as I am totally devasted as I have had to cancel the Christmas Crafty at the Coast.

Germany. Well it was all about family, sunshine, the zoo, picnics, markets, fribard, trains, buses and sleeping in till 8am every day! heaven! I have had my Janome sewing machine for close to two years now and yesterday decided it was about time I attempted to do a buttonhole! I have never, ever done one! My sewing machine comes with an automatic buttonhole foot, where you put the button in one end and the buttonhole is sewn the perfect size! Me and the kids have been at my parents for the last week having a little holiday there! We had a fab time catching up with grandparents, great nanny's, cousins, uncles and aunties. We also had a lovely day out in London and went on a river cruise to Greenwich.
