A messy confession

I am always in awe of the beautiful workspaces that lots of crafty bloggers seem to have out there. Sigh, some people even have a room just for crafting!
Me, I just sew at the kitchen table and have a cupboard with my fabric in and a big basket of my sewing stuff and another with current fabrics I am using for things.
Not exactly inspiring, hence why my fabric cupboard looks like this:

And my sewing basket looks like this......

Goodness, I really am a slob! Am I the only one.....?
Probably!

Inks

Hurrah for Charity shops! Got the above 7 brand new inks from the RSPCA shop in Whitstable for the bargain price of 50p each! I used to love using the inks when I was at art college many years ago, so I am a bit rusty I am sure but I can't wait to do a couple of drawings with them!

Simply sketching....

I feel I have been very lazy of late. Spending far too much time watching rubbish on the TV, reading other peoples brilliant blogs - but not putting anything up on mine! and not doing very much sewing. I seem to have lost my sewing mojo a little bit. I have lots of ideas floating around my head, but haven't really done anything with them!

I have a craft fair coming up at the end of May in Whitstable that I am organising as well as having a stall at, so I need to get some stock made up for this. To help with my lack of motivation, I brought myself this gorgeous sketch book from Harbour Books in Whitstable - a bargain at £3.50.
It is made by this company and already I have been sketching and putting some of my ideas down.....who knows if I will keep it up though!

A little something Red....

My mum and dad got married in 1969, and what a great decade to get married in - they look so cool and swinging!

Forty years later they are still just as happy together, but as my Dad always says 'the great train robbers got a shorter sentence!' Happy Ruby Anniversary!

A teeny tiny snowman!

Well, we seem to have escaped most of the snow that hit the UK this week!

We did have some and managed to make a tiny snowman (which I might add is still there even though nearly all the snow has left the garden!). This picture does make me laugh as D is pulling the funniest face!

But we only had an inch or so and not the 14 inches my parents had and still have!

School was still on for us on Monday and Tuesday, but it seems as if the rest of the UK came to a complete standstill with trains, planes and automobiles cancelled!

On a completley different note, I took these pics of the kids the other week. The close up of F is my fave pic of him ever! Might have to be blown up and put on the wall when we paint the newly plastered walls!

Dollface

I love starting a new year. Not that 2008 was a bad year, but starting a new year feels full of promise and the unknown and the feeling that anything is possible.

I have already had a few ideas for some new makes - including this doll which I made for my neice. Annie doll (my sister named her as she looks like their hairdresser!) has already been on an outing to the library! I really enjoyed making her and ideas for other dolls are all ready flowing! I have already made one more for D's 3rd birthday on wednesday - which is all wrapped up now so no sneaky pics of her!

All the little girls I know, please expect to get one of these for your birthday this year!
