Vintage nighties and seaside life

Well the weather has been gorgeous this week here in Whitstable.
With the smalls off of school we have just been hanging out at home, the park, the beach, with friends.
It has been just lovely.
Whitstable is a gorgeous seaside town and I feel truly lucky to live here.
Let me show you a few of the sights...

A Fishing boat in the harbour...

The lovely old boat outside the Whitstable Oyster Company restaurant...

Oyster shells...

Pipi Max....Ok not a Whitstable sight normally but we did take him for a walk (ok carry, he is a bit slow!) to the beach with us one day...

Lovely vintage nighties flapping in the warm breeze from Vintage on Sea - a sweet little vintage clothes shop right on the seafront....

The fisherman's huts - available for weekend hire (via The Hotel Continental), right on the seafront and car parking space to boot (a rare find in Whitstable!)....

We also have lots of clever crafty people here in town too. The other Saturday along with Vicki we went along to a vintage and handmade fair at a local hall where we  met Hannah from Bubblebay Designs. It is so strange meeting people whose blogs you read as you know so much about them and what they like from their blog - but you don't actually know them in person. I can report that Hannah was just as lovely and friendly as she seems on her blog and her creations were gorgeous. (although Doh! I forgot my camera so no pics to share of Hannah's lovely stall).

Well, we are keeping our fingers crossed there will be lots of sunshine this weekend and we can get the BBQ out for the first barbeque of the year! Hope you have a great Easter weekend wherever you may be.

My Whitstable photos include the boat and the boxes of oysters, too! We had fish and chips on the beach on Wednesday night, and it was positively balmy - quite worryingly so.

This is a lovely post Helen - I especially love the photos of the vintage nighties blowing in the breeze with the sunlight glowing through them! I know Whitstable well (having grown up in Herne Bay) and haven't come across this shop - I'll definitely be looking out for it next time I'm in Whitstable!

Ha ha ha - Pee Pee Max is my favourtie toy ever. I believe the vintage shop is about to go online, which will be great. It's fab for jewellery!

Karen - thank you, hope you have a good easter too.
Pomona - Great minds think alike! I always think Whitstable must be a photographers dream x
Hannah - do keep an eye out next time you are here for the vintage nightie shop! As soon as I saw them I knew I had to take a pic. Shame about the car park behind. x
Vicki - You are not sad like us and actually have a REAL dog to take for walks - my poor deprived children! x
